Read more... Yahoo NBA Sun, 04/12/2009 3:31 AMMatt Harpring summed it up best Saturday, describing the Jazz as hitting "rock bottom" after losing 118-108 to a Golden State Warriors team that had only seven healthy players, none named Stephen Jackson, Jamal Crawford, Monta Ellis or Corey Maggette.
"You've got to give it your all and play with some passion. It shows," Harpring said.
The Jazz have now lost six of their last seven games and dropped consecutive home games to lottery-bound Minnesota and Golden State. With two games left in the regular season, they are likely headed to a first-round playoff series against the Lakers.
The Jazz's defense has absolutely fallen apart in those last seven games, giving up 125, 114, 103, 94, 130, 105 and 118 points, good for an average of 112.7 points.

Yahoo NBA Sat, 01/17/2009 2:15 AMAfter losing Wednesday to the NBA-worst Oklahoma City Thunder, the Jazz still have a chance to salvage their three-game road trip if they can beat the Mavericks on Saturday in the second game of a back-to-back set. It also will be a game with early postseason implications. The Jazz hold a one-and-a-half game lead over Dallas for the Western Conference's eighth and final playoff spot. It is likely that one team in the West will finish with a winning record yet not qualify for the playoffs.
The Mavericks, having lost four games in a row, are desperate to avoid being that team. So are the Jazz in an injury-ravaged season.
The Jazz beat Dallas 97-88 on Dec. 26, with Dirk Nowitzki later suspended a game for taking a backhand swipe at Matt Harpring.
